Introduction
Every year, after the retreat, many ICP coaches wish there were more opportunities to get together and deepen their knowledge of the Learning Lenses. This year, Hidden Sparks is addressing that need by introducing Hidden Sparks WebChats.
Each session will give you an opportunity to deepen your understanding of the Learning Lenses by reading or viewing material and then coming together online to discuss what you’ve learned, and to discuss students who have been puzzling to you.
You can participate in as many sessions as you wish. Each is designed as a stand-alone session. The discussions will be facilitated but not recorded.
What to Expect
1) Register
Sign up for as many or few WebChats as your time and interest allows.
2) Prepare
Spend some time preparing for the discussion.
We’ve created three levels of preparation:
1) Short prep (up to 45 min.)
2) Medium prep (up to 3 hours)
3) Long prep (over 3 hours)
Choose the preparation level that corresponds to the amount of time you can spend on learning before the WebChat.
We do not expect you to do all three levels of preparation! If you have the time and inclination to do more than one, you’re welcome to do so.
3) Participate
Each session will be a facilitated discussion. No lectures, no PowerPoints! We’ll be using the discussions to construct and deepen our understanding collaboratively. After the discussion, time permitting, you can stay on to discuss students you have been observing, especially if they seem to have strengths or struggles having to do with the night’s topic.
